The best restaurants on Ipswich Waterfront
Once a hive of industry, Ipswich Waterfront has undergone a beautiful transformation. What was once the biggest enclosed industrial dock in the UK is now a buzzing cosmopolitan space filled with leisure crafts, chilled cafés and chic restaurants and bars. The waterfront is the place to be on a sunny day or a crisp winter evening where you can relax with a drink and sit and watch the boats bob up and down in the water. But where are the best places to eat on Ipswich Waterfront?
The Waterfront Bistro
The Aptly named Waterfront Bistro is a large and often buzzing venue filled with chic charm, vaulted ceilings and stunning views out over the marina. The philosophy of the Waterfront Bistro is a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where you can eat some great food, and we agree. Expect to see delicious dishes such as curried monkfish and Suffolk chicken with boulangère potatoes.
Isaacs on the Quay
A building filled with original features, nooks and crannies, Isaacs was once the trading hub for the whole of the town and can trace its lineage as far back as medieval times. Now refurbished with its 4 individual bars and huge courtyard Isaacs offers a superbly vibrant atmosphere with live music, sports and events. They even keep the courtyard alive in the winter months with stylish winter domes. If you’re looking for hearty high-quality pub grub, then Isaacs offers a huge array of dishes to enjoy whilst you relax with a drink.
If you’re on the Ipswich Marina and you’re looking to enjoy a truly special dining experience, then look no further than the Mariners. Instead of dining with a view over the marina why not dine in it. The Mariners Restaurant is located on the Amuda a renovated 1899 sailing boat. The wood-lined interior of the restaurant offers a classic feel while the contemporary dining style brings wonderful flavours and a fantastic experience. Expect to taste wonderful dishes such as beef wellington and venison with cranberry.
